IVF with donor sperm
If IVF with donor sperm is the best option for you, we’ll use tailored doses of fertility drugs to stimulate your ovaries to produce mature eggs, which are fertilised following retrieval in our laboratory with sperm from your chosen donor.
The best resulting embryo with the highest potential for pregnancy will be selected for transfer. If you have more than one good embryo you can decide to freeze the remainder to use in future treatment cycles.
Treatment with donor sperm
Treatment with donor sperm involves either donor sperm insemination (IUI with donor sperm) or IVF with donor sperm. We’ll advise which is best for you based on the results of your initial fertility investigations and other factors including your age, medical history and outcome of any previous treatment cycles you’ve had. You’ll be given a fully costed, transparently priced treatment plan so you know what your treatment involves right at the start.
Donor sperm insemination (IUI with donor sperm)
Many patients who need to use donor sperm – such as males with non objection azoospermia– like to opt for donor sperm insemination as it doesn’t involve fertility drugs unless you have irregular or infrequent cycles, and is a quicker treatment procedure than IVF.
Insemination is precisely timed for when ovulation occurs and after treatment you’ll be able to take a pregnancy test around two weeks later.
If treatment is successful, you can request to reserve samples from your donor, so you can grow your family in future and have full sibling children.
